A birth doula is more than a professional; they are a pillar of strength, knowledge, and empathy. We are trained experts in childbirth, offering emotional, physical, and informational assistance to both birthing parents and their partner(s)/support people. We provide personalized care that respects your choices and desires.
Every birth has a story. Our goal is to understand what you want yours to be, and guide you accordingly. We work closely with you to create a trusting and collaborative partnership, ensuring that you feel heard, valued, and empowered as you make important decisions for your birth experience.
Some of the ways we support you:
Personalized Birth Goal Guide (birth plan): Our birth doulas will assist you in creating a guide that reflects your preferences and goals, helping you navigate the various options available to you, no matter what setting you plan on laboring and delivering in.
Continuous Labor Support: From the time you say “I need you,” to the moment of birth, and 1-2 hours thereafter, your doula will be by your side, providing physical comfort measures, guidance for positioning, and a calming presence to ease any anxieties.
Communication and Advocacy: We ensure that you are well-informed about your choices, offering help with effective communication tools to use with those involved in your birth story. We are prepared to teach you ways to advocate for your preferences while maintaining a positive and collaborative atmosphere.

Postpartum Doula Support
We offer a haven of support with our Postpartum doula care, where we create safe, healing spaces while you transition into life with a newborn(s). We provide gentle suggestions based on our extensive training and experience, a helping hand with meals, laundry, feeding support, and more that will help the whole family bond with baby(s).
Earthside doulas strive to offer a range of holistic practices to support you and your family during the early postpartum days. As trained professionals, we provide practical help, a listening ear, and calming support. We work with your family to create a personalized, flexible care plan that adapts to your needs—whether you prefer us hands-on or just a comforting presence.
How will we support you?
Chest/breast feeding and Feeding Support: Our postpartum doulas offer guidance on chest/breastfeeding and bottle-feeding techniques, helping parents establish a comfortable and successful feeding routine for their baby.
Rest and Self-Care: Adequate rest is crucial for postpartum recovery. Postpartum doulas encourage self-care and provide opportunities for parents to rest while they care for the baby.
Information and Education: Postpartum doulas share evidence-based information on postpartum recovery, infant care, and emotional well-being. They answer questions, address concerns, and provide resources that empower parents to make informed decisions.
Sibling and Family Integration: If there are older siblings/children in the home, we can assist with their adjustment to the new family dynamic and ensure that the family as a whole receives the support they need.
Non-Judgmental Guidance: Every family's postpartum journey is unique. We respect individual choices and offer non-judgmental guidance that aligns with the family's values and preferences.

If needed and given consent, they can also provide physical support before during, and after an abortion. Abortion doulas do not provide or perform medical care.
